Good news! Like others have said, no reason not to do the service yourself.
Supplies for 3130HST from dealer (with the super UDT as recommented) came to a little over $300, but the free labor is just a series of simple one-two-three steps not much more involved than changing oil in car.
You'll need 10 mm allen wrench and 27, 24, 19 and 14 mm wrenches or sockets for the current midel 3130HST.
Being a little paranoid about volume of xmission/hydro fluid, I made sure I had two of the 15-quart oil drain pans (with a pour spout) plus another little pan had lying around. no problem. pending disposal, pour old oil back into containers the new oil came in.
Hearing horror stories about pouring 5-gallon cans of fluid, I sprung for $6 for an extra "dain" pain, but used it solely to transfer fluid from can to tractor. Pour two or three gallons into the pan and then just pour it into a funnel that has a a long flexible tube. A little extra motion, but no strain and no fuss. No need to worry about going through tool box or such and you don't have to hold up a heavy, cumbersome bucket for what seems like hours while the fluid drains slowly into the tractor.
Have seen earlier posts about amount of fluid on dip stick. Mine came up to the fill mark at just under 10 gallons. per instructions, I'll fire her up tomorrow for a few minutes and then top off.
The only glitch (and I'm not sure it's a glitch) is my front axle housing started overflowing through the "check" hole with only four quarts put pack in, instead of the 7 the book says. I closed it up and added another quart, but still have only 5 in it now. The manual says "fill with the new oil up to the check plug port." But it appears to take only 4 quarts to accomplish that.
Any thoughts?
Bottom line: Like Art has said, it's a good chance to "bond" with your new baby and actually kind of fun if you don't mind a little mess.

Boy I sure wish I would have done my own service. I just had no time. So I called the dealer and they said no problem. I specified I wanted all Kubota filters and since I might be moving back to Wisconsin i wanted the super UDT for the colder temps.
Got my tractor back and first thing I noticed on the bill was the charge for 9 gallons of reg. UDT. I asked and they said " oh the super UDT did not come in". I popped. The tractor was also a quart low of engine oil and almost a gallon low on the trans. Did not check or change the front axle fluid....and bent one of the side panels along side the engine. I really popped. Searves me right for being to lazy to do it myself. So I went and re-did the service. Also found one of the drain plugs loose. I still am to angery to call the owner of the dealership. A lesson that cost me a lot of money.
I still in love with my L3130HST but I sure do hate the match maker....my dealer. ....

Wow! Sounds like a good place to be moving FROM, at least as far as your Kubota dealer goes. So far, so good with mine, in Warrenton, Va. I brought up 50-hour service. His response was that they'd be more than happy to do it, but that there really wasn't any reason for me not to do myself. Of course, I didn't really have a time problem. Spread the job over several days, including getting materials together and tools organized, etc. Notice you're in West Virginia. You didn't happen to deal with either the Kubota guys in Winchester, Va., or Woodstock, Va. did you? I don't have any expereience with them, but would want to be forewarned if one of them was yours.
Did you happen to notice how many quarts your front axle took, assuming you did that when you cleaned up after the dealer? ....

Well I bought pails of the Super UDT and used a empty jug I had to put the oil in the front axle so I really do not know how much exactly I added. But it seams like it was only 4 to 5 quarts.
I bought the tractor from a place in Ohio. Saved the sales tax and I was real happy with the buying part of the deal. Good thing I have 2 more dealers around to try next time.....if there is a need for a next time. All of ther service from now on will be done by me. ....

GFuys, don't feel bad. The kubota dealer here in CT (one of them anyway) is horrible too. It took them 3 weeks to get the Super UDT in and they kept telling me to just use the CASE fluid because it was better. I also tried to get some 10-30 diesel oil from them and they told me they only use 15-40 on everything and to ignore the book 15-40 is fine.
I guess you should listen to the guy behind the counter, who takes 30 minutes to look up an airfilter number, instead of the engineer who designed and built your machine!
I love my 2 kubotas but have had bad luck getting any accurate info from this dealer here in CT. ....

jr, Because the front axle fill hole is on the left, it takes some time for the oil to make its way to the right side. You'll be able to get the rest of the lube in if you allow some time or possible drive it around for a few minutes.

make sure your hour meter is dispayed on your instrument panel then press both buttons at the same time & hold them down for 5 seconds. that will turn the service light off.
